Quality Control

At The Waterbury Plating Company we believe:

         1.      Quality is defined from the customers’ points of view.  We work with our customers on                      the product-process development to best satisfy their metal finishing requirements.

         2.      Quality is linked with profitability on both the market and cost sides.

         3.     Quality is built into the strategic and long-term planning process.

         4.      Quality is an organization-wide commitment.  It’s everyone’s responsibility

         5.      Quality is viewed as a competitive weapon and primary growth strategy.

    ·        We will exceed, not match, competitors’ quality

·        We emphasize “continuous improvement”

         6.      Quality stresses the importance of prevention rather than correction of failure.

Sophisticated analysis for plating, painting, powder coating and cleaning technologies is performed in our own state-of-the-art laboratories and supplemented by outside laboratories.

1.      Chemical Lab – wet chemistry analysis and Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer instrumentation

2.      Mechanical/Physical testing Lab – measurement of coating thickness and other metallographical properties are performed on our Fischerscope X-Ray 1010, Deltascope MP, Kocour Electronic Thickness Tester and other mechanical instrumentation.  In addition we perform humidity testing, destructive testing, and visual examination.

3.      Paint Lab – various testing instrumentation supplemented by state-of-the-art Data Color International Color Matching System

4.      Outside Lab – a scanning electron microscope with energy and wavelength dispersive spectrometers is on call for very detailing analysis.
